Excessive hair loss in women. Evaluation of scalp therapy using injectable platelet-rich fibrin. Agnieszka Sirocka
ABSTRACT
Excessive hair loss and scalp disorders are common problems in women, and therapies using autologous platelet concentrates, such as platelet-rich fibrin (iPRF) injections, are gaining importance due to their regenerative properties. This study aimed to clinically evaluate the effect of iPRF therapy on selected scalp and hair parameters. Four participants were included in the study, who underwent three scalp mesotherapy treatments with platelet-rich fibrin at monthly intervals. iPRF therapy was well tolerated, suggesting its potential usefulness in supporting the treatment of various scalp and hair conditions. After completing the therapy, improvements in scalp hydration , a reduction in redness and oiliness, and beneficial changes in hair density, thickness, and appearance were observed. Participants also reported less hair loss.
